Baker

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tortuga Rum Company is searching for a skilled, creative baker who will strive to provide excellent baked items as well as offer service in an efficient and professional manner. The baker will bake patties and various pastry items
in addition to processing orders from customers.

 

The Baker will also clean workstations/equipment and occasionally retrieve items from inventory. The Baker will perform other duties to ensure that customer needs are satisfied. The Baker will ensure inventory is well-stocked and the kitchen is operating smoothly.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bake patties and pastry items.
• Carry and distribute supplies.
• Grease pans and place food items into the oven to bake.
• Remove baked products from the oven.
• Clean bakery utensils and work area.
• Maintain and sanitize baker tools.
• Assist with inventory.
• Stock supplies.
• Remove waste and assist with bakery cleaning

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a baker or in a similar role.
• Strong reading and writing skills.
• Previous experience working in a similar business setting.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 25lbs.
• Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment; stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances; and lift heavy items for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong team player with excellent organisational and multitasking skills, who is punctual, reliable and responsible
