Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets.
Valtir's Orangeburg Plant, in Orangeburg, South Carolina is currently hiring two (2) Career Galvanizer team members. If you are a dependable hard worker who wants to be a part of a successful team, this is the job for you!
Starting Rate: $19 per hour plus the ability to qualify for monthly and quarterly bonuses.
Full Time: M-F, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
As a Career Galvanizer, under supervision, you will perform general labor work as required including but not limited to:
- Handles and maintains cleaning equipment and materials, including hazardous chemicals, and moves material
- Piles and stores materials, products, components, pallets, skids, holding devices, etc., as required in and about the Galvanizing plant in accordance with safety regulations.
- Check tools and equipment in observance of safety regulations. General housekeeping of work area.
- Hang parts, stack and unstack; Familiar with Quality Control; Cleans and prepares surfaces with water and/or hazardous chemicals; certified to operate overhead crane; maintains equipment and work environment; determines preparedness of material for coating; Works under supervision.
Working Environment:
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
- Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy within a fast paced, heavy industrial plant environment.
Job Requirements:
- Possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience,
- Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions.
- Familiarity with quality control.
- Certified or be able to operate overhead crane and forklift.
- Ability to function as a team member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Must be able to lift up to 120 lbs and stand for most of the shift.
