Position Summary
The Environmental Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This position leads environmental stewardship initiatives, manages permitting requirements, and oversees environmental reporting. The Environmental Manager will be based in Macedon, NY, where approximately 75% of their time will be dedicated to supporting the local facility. The remaining 25% of time will be focused on assisting other ABX locations by providing environmental compliance support including reports, auditing, training, permitting expertise.
Multi-Site Support & Travel Requirements
- 75% of working time dedicated to the Macedon, NY facility.
- 25% of working time dedicated to supporting other ABX locations.
- Provide environmental compliance support, audits, training, and project leadership across the ABX network.
- Periodic travel is required to support inspections, permitting, and environmental initiatives. Travel is expected to be less than 10% but will be higher in the first year in order to visit all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EPA, NYSDEC, OSHA, and local regulations.
- Maintain environmental permits and reporting requirements.
- Manage waste, air, water, and stormwater programs.
- Lead environmental initiatives.
- Conduct training, audits, and incident investigations.
- Maintain environmental records and reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5 years of environmental compliance experience.
- Knowledge of RCRA, CAA, CWA, SPCC, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications
- CHMM
- PE
- CEP

- Timely reporting and permit compliance.
- Reduction in waste and environmental impact.
