Guest Services Associate – Part-time
Are you looking to join a dynamic team that plays a vital role in creating memorable experiences for visitors from around the world? Look no further than the South Carolina Aquarium Guest Services team! This permanent position is perfect for college students, retirees, and anyone looking to earn extra money in a fun, fast-paced environment.
Quick Highlights:
📅 Full day shifts that range from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; sign up for night-time events for extra hours
🎉 Holiday shifts are paid time and a half
📅 Availability required for at least one weekend day; you can work up to 30 hours in a week
🚗 Free parking provided
👕 Aquarium provides uniform shirts and outerwear
⛅️ This is a standing, outdoor position — dress appropriately; accommodations provided as necessary.
💵 Pay is $15 per hour
What You’ll Do:
- Warmly greet guests and promote our programs and initiatives
- Sell and scan tickets with a smile (cash-handling exp recommended)
- Promote and sell memberships (computer exp required)
- Operate fun guest experiences like our Undersea Explorer Virtual Reality
- Assist guests with golf cart rides to and from parking garage (valid driver’s license required)
- Assist with crowd flow, safety, and organization
- Use a radio for communications
- Process groups that visit for school field trips
What We’re Looking For:
- Friendly, outgoing individuals who enjoy working with people
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, or customer service is a plus
- Must be available weekends and days around the holidays
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time and working outdoors
- Team players who are flexible, adaptable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
