The ideal candidate is a well-rounded HR professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced government contracting environment and managing responsibilities across employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, compliance, performance management, and general HR operations.

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, discretion when handling sensitive information, and the ability to balance employee support with organizational and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, and general HR questions.

    • Support the Director of HR with employee onboarding, orientation, status changes, transfers, promotions, and offboarding activities.

    • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, ensuring information is complete, current, and properly documented.

    • Support benefits administration, including employee enrollments, qualifying life events, employee questions, and coordination with benefits providers.

    • Assist employees and managers with leave administration, including FMLA and other applicable federal, state, and company leave programs.

    • Support the Director of HR with employee relations matters, performance concerns, corrective actions, and company policies.

    • Assist with employee investigations and ensure issues are appropriately documented and elevated when necessary.

    • Support the company's performance management and employee development processes.

    • Assist with the development, implementation, communication, and administration of HR policies and procedures.

    • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

    • Assist with EEO, affirmative action, VETS-4212, EEO-1, and other applicable government contractor reporting and compliance requirements.

    • Support Service Contract Act (SCA) administration and other government contracting HR requirements, as applicable.

    • Maintain confidentiality of employee records, compensation information, investigations, medical information, and other sensitive HR matters.

    • Coordinate with Payroll, Finance, Talent, Operations, Contracts, and other corporate departments to ensure accurate and timely employee actions.

    • Assist with employee engagement, recognition, retention, and company culture initiatives.

    • Assist the Director of HR with metrics and prepare reports for HR and company leadership as requested.

    • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate HR documentation and providing requested records.

    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, employee communication, and administrative efficiency.

    • Perform other Human Resources duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience may be considered.

    • 2-3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or similar role.

    • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and standard HR practices.

    • Experience supporting employee onboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.

    • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems or similar payroll systems.
