About the role
Jeppesen ForeFlight (JFF) is a global aviation software company building a modern, independent SaaS business. As UKG has become the source of truth for workforce data and a critical foundation for payroll, identity, reporting, and downstream business systems, we need a hands-on HR technology professional who can keep that foundation accurate, connected, secure, and scalable.
We are hiring an HRIS Manager to run the day-to-day technical operation of our HR systems and execute the direction set by the Director of HRIS. This is not a policy-heavy HR generalist role. It is a systems role inside HR for someone who enjoys configuration, workflow design, integrations, troubleshooting, testing, reporting, controls, and disciplined execution. HR domain knowledge is valuable, but technical depth, systems judgment, and the ability to learn quickly are the priorities.
You will work at the intersection of HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors. Success means that workflows move cleanly, integrations are monitored and repaired quickly, access is controlled, data can be trusted, audits are supported, and implementations land without surprises.
Key Responsibilities:
- UKG configuration and administration. Configure and maintain UKG and related HR technology, including business rules, workflows, notifications, fields, security roles, permissions, and module settings. Evaluate requests, identify downstream impacts, and implement solutions that are supportable and scalable.
- Workflow and process automation. Translate business requirements into efficient system workflows and approval paths. Diagnose bottlenecks, remove unnecessary manual steps, document decision logic, and continuously improve the employee and administrator experience.
- Integrations, APIs, and data feeds. Support the design, build, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of integrations between UKG and the broader enterprise technology environment. Work directly with IT, vendors, and internal partners on APIs, web services, SFTP/file-based feeds, authentication, data mapping, error handling, and reconciliation.
- Technical operations and incident resolution. Manage day-to-day system support, triage incidents, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate fixes, and maintain clear ownership through resolution. Establish repeatable support processes, documentation, and service expectations.
- Implementation delivery. Lead or support module rollouts, country and entity setups, system enhancements, and new technology implementations. Own requirements, configuration, test plans, UAT coordination, defect management, data validation, cutover activities, hypercare, and transition to ongoing support.
- Release and change management. Review vendor releases, assess business and integration impacts, coordinate regression testing, manage configuration changes, and maintain accurate change records and technical documentation.
- Data integrity and system-of-record controls. Perform recurring audits and reconciliations to protect the accuracy and completeness of employee, organizational, payroll, and security data. Investigate exceptions and partner with data owners to correct root causes, not just symptoms.
- Security, access, and audit readiness. Administer role-based access and approval controls, support periodic access reviews, preserve audit trails, and produce clear evidence for internal and external audits. Partner with IT, Legal, Payroll, and Finance on security, privacy, retention, and control requirements.
- Reporting and analytics enablement. Build, maintain, and automate operational reports and dashboards using UKG reporting tools and other BI platforms. Validate definitions and data logic so leaders can rely on headcount, attrition, recruiting, payroll, compensation, and other workforce reporting.
- Vendor and partner management. Manage day-to-day relationships with UKG and other HR technology vendors, including support cases, implementation work, deliverables, SLAs, issue escalation, and invoice or scope validation. Hold partners accountable for timely, quality outcomes.
- Cross-functional delivery. Partner with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, and business teams to clarify requirements, surface risks, and deliver practical system solutions. Explain technical issues in plain language and bring enough structure to move work forward.
- Documentation and enablement. Maintain system diagrams, configuration records, integration specifications, runbooks, test evidence, and user guidance. Create training and job aids for administrators, managers, and employees when new functionality or processes are introduced.
- Director support and roadmap execution. Provide the Director of HRIS with reliable operational insight, technical recommendations, risk identification, project status, and capacity estimates. Execute the approved HR technology roadmap and escalate decisions that require strategic alignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering, configuring, implementing, or integrating enterprise HRIS or business systems. Experience must extend beyond ticket routing or functional administration.
- Strong enterprise system configuration skills, including workflows, business rules, security roles, permissions, notifications, and testing in complex environments.
- Demonstrated integration experience supporting APIs, web services, SFTP or file-based interfaces, data mapping, authentication, monitoring, error resolution, and reconciliation across connected systems.
- Experience delivering system implementations or major enhancements through requirements, configuration, testing, cutover, hypercare, and transition to ongoing operations.
- Strong reporting and data skills, including experience building complex reports or dashboards, validating data logic, and troubleshooting discrepancies. Working knowledge of SQL or another query language is expected.
- Working knowledge of enterprise technology practices, including incident management, change control, release management, role-based access, audit trails, data governance, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability. You can isolate an issue across systems, interpret logs or error details, identify root cause, assess risk, and drive a durable resolution.
- Ability to translate between technical and non-technical teams. You can turn an operational need into clear system requirements and explain technical constraints, options, and impacts in plain language.
- Experience coordinating vendors and cross-functional partners through competing priorities, dependencies, escalations, and delivery commitments.
- Sound judgment with sensitive data. You understand the responsibility that comes with workforce, identity, payroll, and compensation information and consistently apply appropriate controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- UKG experience. Hands-on configuration or technical administration experience with UKG Pro is strongly preferred; experience with UKG Workforce Management, UKG OneView, UKG BI/Cognos, or UKG integration tools is an additional advantage.
- Technical toolkit. Experience with REST or SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, SQL, Postman, middleware or iPaaS platforms, secure file transfer, and identity or provisioning integrations.
- Global systems exposure. Experience supporting multi-country, multi-entity environments, including global payroll integrations, data privacy requirements, or works council considerations.
- Controls and compliance exposure. Experience supporting SOC, SOX, ISO, internal audit, or comparable technology and data-control frameworks.
- HR technology breadth. Familiarity with recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compensation, performance, learning, and identity-management processes is helpful; deep expertise in every HR discipline is not required.
- Education or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Pilot or aviation enthusiast
