About the role
Junior Buyer drives profitability and product performance by purchasing and distributing high-quality grocery items for H Mart stores. This role combines vendor negotiation, market trend research, and SAP data analysis to source new products, maintain competitive pricing, and optimize supply chain operations.
Purchasing
- Negotiations with vendors on availability, product specs, distribution, deadlines and price.
- Evaluate suppliers/vendors based on product quality, price, documentation, and shipping schedule.
Market research
- Perform market analysis, competitive shop and analyze sales trends.
- Investigate and respond to field issues.
Data Analysis
- Make weekly sales data
- Review and analyze daily and weekly reports
- Create and maintain item master data in SAP; Item Description, Scan Code
Qualifications / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or SCM (preferably in the retail or food industry)
- Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) is highly preferred
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis
- Detail-oriented, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive mindset for trend spotting
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is often preferred for vendor communication
