About the role

Caseware is one of Canada's original Fintech companies, having led the global audit and accounting software industry for over 30 years, with more than 500,000 users across 130 countries and available in 16 different languages. While you might not have heard of us (yet) over 36,000 accounting and audit professionals list Caseware as a skill on their LinkedIn profiles!

As Senior Product Manager, US Tax, you own the product strategy, roadmap, and success of Caseware's US tax solutions: the compliance and provision work US firms carry out, how it connects to the accounting and assurance work already running in Caseware, and where Caseware integrates with the wider US tax technology stack.

You'll be reporting into: Head of Solutions, US

A US CPA in good standing is a hard requirement. This role will require some travel.

What you will be doing:

    Strategy and roadmap

    • Own the product strategy for Caseware's US tax solutions and keep it aligned with the overall product and company vision.

    • Define what should be built for the US tax market, for whom, and the opportunity it addresses.

    • Own the roadmap: what goes on it, in what sequence, and what each item needs to ship successfully.

    • Define the requirements, scope, and success measures for each item before work starts.

    • Work through the delivery teams to get roadmap items built.

    • Lean forward on agentic AI in the product suite. Set the go-forward direction for where agents sit in customer workflows

    • Use AI tooling in how the team builds: specs, prototyping, testing and release

    • Identify delivery risk against the roadmap and raise it early.

    • Report roadmap status and product performance to senior leadership.

    Build, buy, and partner

    • Assess where Caseware builds tax capability and where it integrates with an existing provider.

    • Produce the product case behind each recommendation, including the opportunity and the investment required.

    • Own the product requirements for third-party tax integrations.

    Market and customers

    • Be the internal expert on US tax practice: federal and multi-state compliance, the forms, and firm workflow.

    • Interpret IRS and state guidance, and legislative change with a compliance impact, and get it onto the roadmap before it is effective.

    • Know the US tax software landscape and what firms already run.

    • Spend time with firms of every size and and shape roadmap based upon customer need and highest value impact

    • Represent the product with firm advisory groups and industry bodies.

    Quality and compliance

    • Treat compliance accuracy as a deliverable rather than an assumption.

    • Set the bar a tax solution must meet before it ships.

    Go-to-market and commercial

    • Work with go-to-market teams on positioning, launch, enablement, and the success of the solutions you own in market.

    • Provide the product view into pricing and packaging for those solutions.

What you will bring:

    • A US CPA in good standing, with a strong interest in technology.

    • 7+ years in US tax practice, or combined US tax practice and product management experience.

    • Deep knowledge of US federal and multi-state compliance across pass-throughs, corporates, and individuals, and the ability to read and interpret future guidance.

    • Familiarity with the US tax software market.

    • Experience delivering through teams you do not manage.

    • Able to define requirements from which engineering and content teams can build.

    • Experience prioritizing and planning across competing demands, and surfacing risk early rather than late.

    • Able to set out priorities and the evidence behind them to a senior audience.

    • A lifelong learner, self-motivated to stay current with professional standards and changes in the tax profession.

    • Results orientated — willing to roll up their sleeves and take initiative.

    • A self-starter who works effectively without daily supervision and communicates clearly with colleagues across regions.
