About the role

Position Overview:

As Sr. Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering, you will lead the team that builds and operates the cloud platform behind our products. You will own the multi-cloud infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and access and policy foundations that engineering teams build on, and make sure they stay available, scalable, secure, and cost-aware.

You will also be a technical advisor to the department and a partner to the SRE, database, DevX, and AI infrastructure teams. You are self-motivated, a critical thinker, data-driven, and results-oriented, with a focus on the experience of the engineers and clients who depend on the platform.

What you will do:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of cloud platform engineers across locations, with clear ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Own the design, deployment, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure, primarily Azure with AWS and GCP where products require them, so SaaS delivery stays scalable, secure, and reliable.
  • Own cloud networking: virtual networks, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, egress and public IP strategy, and private connectivity for client and partner integrations.
  • Run Kubernetes (AKS), virtual machines, and containerized workloads as a platform that engineering teams use through self-service and infrastructure as code.
  • Implement and manage RBAC and identity and access management, and enforce Azure Policy, so access to cloud resources stays least-privilege and auditable.
  • Maintain the controls and evidence our security certifications require, including segregation of duties and client data isolation in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Drive operational excellence: high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and scalability for 24/7 SaaS operations, working with SRE and database teams on incident response and DR testing.
  • Manage cloud cost and vendors, including FinOps practices, spend visibility, commitment planning, and vendor relationships.
  • Set the platform roadmap and priorities with R&D, product, and security leaders, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
  • Stay current with cloud advancements and industry trends and apply them where they improve the platform.

What you will need:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • You bring 8+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • You have extensive experience running cloud environments for SaaS products, with hands-on expertise in cloud networking, Kubernetes, compute resource management, and policy configuration.
  • You know Azure deeply, including virtual networks, AKS, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure Policy, and you have working knowledge of AWS and GCP.
  • You have a proven track record leading teams in access management, security, and compliance within cloud environments.
  • You are proficient in infrastructure as code (for example, Terraform and ARM or Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • You are familiar with monitoring and observability tools (for example, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana) and cloud cost optimization.
  • You are a strong leader with excellent communication skills, able to manage distributed teams and work with cross-functional stakeholders in fluent English.
  • You are a strategic thinker who balances technical and business priorities while driving operational efficiency
