Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and technical Product Manager to drive the vision, roadmap, and market execution of our VMware vSphere-based enterprise virtualization, cloud infrastructure and AI Factory platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between global enterprise customers, engineering teams, sales, and executive leadership. You will be responsible for defining product requirements that help enterprise customers modernize on-premises data centers, maximize infrastructure efficiency, and seamlessly scale into hybrid cloud topologies.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the multi-year product strategy for vSphere capabilities, ensuring absolute alignment with modern enterprise needs like AI/ML workloads, automation, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
- Requirements & Execution: Translate customer pain points and complex technical architectures into crisp Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and feature prioritization matrices. Collaborate daily with Engineering, UX designers, and architects in an Agile framework.
- Enterprise Lifecycle Management: Manage features throughout their lifecycle from ideation, cross-functional alpha/beta testing, general availability (GA), to eventual depreciation or migration paths.
- Modernization & Kubernetes: Define strategies to advance virtualization infrastructure, ensuring vSphere integrates effectively with cloud-native tech (e.g., vSphere with Tanzu, Kubernetes, containers).
- Go-to-Market (GTM) & Sales Enablement: Partner with Product Marketing to create competitive positioning, technical whitepapers, pricing strategies, and sales collateral.
- Customer & Community Advocacy: Serve as the subject matter expert at industry events, customer advisory boards (CABs), and deep-dive technical feedback sessions with Fortune 500 IT leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field and 12+ years of related industry experience. An MBA is highly desirable.
- Experience: 5+ years of software Product Management experience explicitly focused on enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), or cloud platforms for AI workloads.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the VMware ecosystem, specifically vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, and core data center architectures (compute, enterprise storage, distributed networking, AI).
- Cloud & Containerization Literacy: Solid comprehension of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, platform engineering, and hybrid cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Agile Competency: Proven track record running Scrum processes, managing complex developer backlogs, and breaking down highly abstract problems into iterative technical deliverables.
